Meet Dr. Amika

Dr. Amika hails from Pune, Maharashtra, India, and has dreamed of becoming a dentist ever since she had her first dental fillings at the age of six. She earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree in August 2011 from the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences.

Fluent in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Marathi—with Hindi holding a special place in her heart—Dr. Amika brings warmth and understanding to patients from diverse backgrounds.

In 2012, she moved to Canada, where her passion for dentistry motivated her to complete the rigorous National Dental Examination Board of Canada equivalency process. She has since been practicing in the Niagara region for over seven years.

Dr. Amika is particularly passionate about surgical dentistry. She has completed several advanced courses in surgical wisdom teeth extraction, socket preservation, implant placement, and treatment planning.

Her vision for her practice is simple yet profound: to provide a stress-free dental experience where patients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make informed decisions.

Dr. Amika is a proud member of the International Dental Implant Association, the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, and the Niagara Peninsula Dental Association.

Outside of dentistry, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and their beloved fur baby. She loves watching movies, strength training, and tending to her many rose bushes in the backyard.

Meet Dr. Sharma

Hello all! This is Dr. Sharma but please call me Dimple! I came to Canada in 2000 after practicing as a dentist in India. I passed the Canadian National Board dental examination in 2003 and began to practice here. After practicing in various dental offices around Toronto I took over Downtown Dental Centre and continued their long-standing practice and tradition of excellent patient care.

My time at Downtown Dental is an amazing journey. From the very start the team and our patients have been like a family to me. Coming to work every day is an absolute joy! I deeply appreciate the confidence that you, my patients, have in me and our team, and we hope to continue building relationships with you in the years to come.

I take great pride in keeping abreast with modern dental technologies and treatments and using them to improve the level of care I provide my patients. My team and I regularly update our skills through continuing education. I’m also very proud that my daughter is following in my footsteps to become a dentist herself.
