Dental implants are a permanent and natural solution for missing teeth. Unlike bridges and dentures, dental implants last a lifetime and look identical to your natural teeth. Plus, implants help prevent the bone loss that can result when you lose a tooth.
How implants work
Most dental implants are implanted directly into your jawbone. The implant itself looks like a tiny wood screw, but the resemblance ends there - the implant is a highly-precise medical device that’s designed to integrate with your natural bone and form a permanent bond.
Once the implant is in place, it can support a dental crown to replace the missing tooth or a denture implant to replace several missing teeth at once.
In some cases, a patient may not have sufficient bone to support the implant. To remedy this, we can augment and strengthen the bone with bone grafts.
