Healthy gums make healthy smiles. Your gums protect your teeth and the tissues and bone that support them. We provide specialized services to keep your gums healthy and free from gum infections and disease.
Frenectomies are used to treat the condition known as “tongue-tied,” where connective tissue in the mouth is too tight and causes discomfort. To relieve the tightness, we cut and/or remove the tissue.
Scaling and Root Planing
Deep cleaning treatments are sometimes necessary to remove plaque and tartar from under your gums. This buildup can’t be removed by normal brushing and flossing, and without treatment it can lead to infections and potentially gum disease. We remove the tartar with special tools and then smooth the surface of the roots to prevent the gums from being irritated.
There are many reasons why we may need to extract a tooth. Sometimes the tooth is too damaged or infected to be restored with a root canal or a filling, or the tooth may need to be removed to make room for other teeth. We can perform simple and surgical extractions in our office. If it’s necessary to extract a tooth, your dentist will discuss the reasons for the extraction with you and will recommend options to replace the lost tooth.
Regular dental exams are vital to keeping your gums healthy. Contact our office today to book an appointment.
